Help Children in Gaza and the West Bank

Help Children in Gaza Return to Learning
Children in Gaza are living through a profound humanitarian crisis. They have been deprived of food, water, health care, education, and safety. Thousands of homes and schools have been destroyed, and many children are living in unstable, unsafe conditions. Hundreds of thousands of children have been out of school—some for more than 20 months—losing access to the learning, protection, and stability that education provides. Many are experiencing depression, anxiety, fear, and deep emotional distress as a result of ongoing violence and displacement.
This crisis has become even more critical. In November 2025, heavy flooding damaged many temporary learning spaces in Gaza, leaving structures unstable, and increasingly unsafe, especially as winter approaches. These are essential spaces where children are able to learn, play, and receive psychosocial support. Without urgent support, flooding and cold temperatures will further erode children’s access to safe learning environments and disrupt their emotional recovery.
Right To Play, along with our partners Tamer, are working to restore and reinforce temporary learning centers using materials that are realistically available in the local market. Your donation could help provide urgent items such as:
- Wooden pallets or sand elevation for drainage
- Plastic sheeting and tarpaulins
- Locally available insulation rolls or foam boards
- Heavy-duty carpeting or protective floor mats
- Sandbags or ventilation solutions for sealing and stabilizing edges
- Safe kerosene or electric heaters
- Minor structural reinforcement where feasible
These supports will help ensure children can return to safe learning, stability, and play.
Your donation can help us respond. Children cannot wait.
What your support can do
Right To Play has been protecting, educating, and empowering children in Gaza and the West Bank for more than 20 years, using the power of play.
Play is a uniquely powerful tool in situations of conflict and recovery. It enables children to feel safe, express their emotions, regain a sense of control and of normalcy, connect to trusted adults, and hold on to hope.
Your support can make this true for children who need it today. Donations enable our trained teams to provide play-based psychosocial support sessions to children in safe spaces. Donations also provide life-saving learning opportunities in both formal and informal settings, helping children access knowledge that keeps them safe, and allowing them to keep learning even when schools aren’t accessible.
Our response so far
Thanks to donations to our Children’s Emergency Fund, we have distributed hygiene kits, warm clothes, and play and education materials to thousands of children and families in the West Bank and Gaza.
We have also provided play-based psychosocial support sessions to children which has helped them work through the fear and trauma they experience and hold on to hope. We continue to work with partners across the region to assess the evolving needs and adapt our response to what children need most.
Making a Difference Through the Children's Emergency Fund
For 25 years, Right To Play has been helping children access the psychosocial support they need to cope with fear and trauma, and the inclusive, interactive, and supportive education they need to learn, develop, and thrive.
Donations to the Children’s Emergency Fund allow Right To Play to respond wherever the need is greatest, including the West Bank and Gaza. Any donation that exceeds what is required will be directed to other areas of greatest need.
